Gordian II (Artistic Facial Reconstruction) — View Full-Size Image

Gordian II (r. 238 CE) was his father’s co-emperor until he was killed in battle against forces loyal to Maximinus Thrax, and news of his death inspired his father Gordian I to commit suicide.

Pictured alongside the reconstruction is a bust of Gordian II from the Capitoline Museum.
