Egyptian Bronze Sword
The khopesh (the Egyptian word for a sickle-shaped scimitar) was introduced to Egypt by the Hyksos c. 1782-1570 BCE. The strong design of the curved bronze blade was superior to those previously used by the Egyptians. The bronze khopesh remained popular until roughly the 13th century BCE when iron weaponry became prevalent.
