Corinthian Helmet (Detail)
The Corinthian helmet is one of the most iconic pieces of armour from ancient Greece. It offered a great amount of protection for the face and neck. It was popular in the Archaic Period but was phased out in favour of helmets that offered greater visibility and range of motion. This helmet is from the second half of the 6th century BCE, possibly of Italian origin.
