Rose Trellis Egg by Fabergé
The 1907 Rose Trellis Egg by Peter Carl Fabergé (1846-1920). The egg was given by Tsar Nicholas II (r. 1894-1917) to his wife Alexandra Feodorovna. The egg is made of gold with pink and green enamel. The latticework is decorated with rose diamonds. The surprise has been lost but was a diamond necklace with an ivory miniature portrait of the empress. The egg measures 7.7 cm (3 in) in height.
