Tondo of the Two Brothers
The so-called "Tondo of the Two Brothers" is a 2nd-century CE mummy portrait of two men from Antinoƶpolis, Egypt. Although originally assumed to be brothers, recent scholarship has suggested that they may have in fact been lovers. Iconography and titles used in their tomb deliberately paralleled Hadrian and Antinous, hinting at the nature of their relationship.
