Zeus & Ganymede
Many episodes from Greek mythology included homosexual relationships and courtships. Zeus, the king of the gods, had numerous lovers, both male and female. One of the most famous of these was the beautiful youth Ganymede, who was kidnapped by Zeus to be his cupbearer. This kylix depicts Zeus abducting Ganymede. Attributed to the Penthesilea Painter, c. 475-425 BCE.
