This vase from Classical Greece depicts three couples; two men, two women, and a man and woman. The three pairs may represent different modes of courtship. On the right, two men are engaged in conversation, while in the center one woman offers a wreath to the other. On the left, a man leads a woman by the wrist, imagery which often featured in wedding scenes. Attributed to the Douris Painter, c. 470 BCE.
