An 1869 oil on canvas, View of Monmarte from the Cité des Fleurs, by Alfred Sisley (1839-1899), the Franco-British impressionist painter. In this period, Montmartre was still a largely rural area, and the artist lived here for a time. (Musée de Grenoble, France)
