Roman Fresco of a Banquet Scene, Pompeii
A fresco of the Fourth Pompeian Style depicting guests at a banquet. The guests are reclining at the table, and a young slave brings in dishes. Music and singing accompany the meal. The inscription over the head of the banqueters reads FACITE VOBIS SUAVITER EGO CANTO and EST ITA VALEAS (make yourselves comfortable; I am singing; go for it!).
