Boxer of Quirinal
The bronze Boxer of Quirinal, also known as the Terme Boxer, is a Hellenistic Greek sculpture dated around 330 BCE of a sitting boxer with Caestus, a type of leather hand-wrap. The boxer is depicted with a disproportionately muscular torso and heavy injuries from boxing. His scarred face, cauliflower ears, chipped teeth and broken nose reveal the toll that boxing has taken on him. (National Museum of Rome)
