Juno Sospita
Juno was the wife of Jupiter, the goddess of marriage and the patron goddess of Rome. Her Greek counterpart was Hera. Juno was depicted as a matron, with a veil and diadem. In her more protective aspects, she was depicted wearing a goatskin cloak or wielding arms. Pictured: a colossal statue of Juno Sospita (the Saviour). 2nd century CE. (Vatican Museums, Rome)
