Serapis
Serapis was a Greco-Egyptian god, created during the Hellenistic period by fusing several gods. The consort of Isis, he was a Greek interpretation of the Egyptian gods Osiris and Apis. In the Roman period, he was strongly associated with the Egyptian god Osiris, as well as Bacchus, Jupiter, and Pluto. Serapis was typically depicted as a bearded man with a grain-measure (modius) on his head. Pictured: 2nd-century CE statue. (Vatican Museums, Rome)
