Triumph of Neptune, Sousse
Neptune was the god of the seas, springs and waterways, brother of Jupiter and Pluto. He was also the lord of horses, storms and earthquakes. He was usually depicted holding a trident, possibly astride a chariot, and was often accompanied by dolphins. Pictured: a mosaic of Neptune being pulled in a chariot by two hippocampi.
