Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt
Diana was the goddess of hunting, the wilds, and the moon, associated with the Greek goddess Artemis. Diana was usually depicted as a young maiden with a bow and quiver. Because of her association with hunting, she was often depicted accompanied by deer or dogs. Pictured: "Diana of Versailles". 2nd century CE, copied from a Greek original dating to 330 BCE.
