Stele of Kai — Limestone stele of Kai, chief of the desert hunters, with his favorite hound gods. Kai wears a wig and holds a bow and arrows. A female figure (Kai's wife or mother) stands behind him and puts her left hand on his shoulder. She wears a wig and a tight long dress and holds a lotus in her right hand. While the two dogs are named, the full name of the male and female figures are not known. Middle Kingdom, 11th to 12th dynasty, c. 2000 BCE. Probably from Kamula, Egypt. (The Neues Museum, Berlin, Germany).
