The Temple of Jupiter in the Forum of Pompeii Download Full Size Image

The Temple of Jupiter dominates the north side of the Forum of Pompeii, with Mount Vesuvius looming behind it. After the town became a Roman colony in 80 BCE, the temple became a Capitolium, a temple dedicated to the capitoline triad (Jupiter, Juno and Minerva).
