This bowl is part of the so-called "Hildesheim Silver Treasure" and depicts a medallion of the baby Hercules battling snakes sent by Hera.

The Hildesheim treasure, consisting of more than 70 pieces, is one of the most substantial and qualitatively valuable treasure troves of antiquity. It represents a luxurious dinner service consisting of magnificent silver vessels, dining, and drinking tableware. Most certainly, this table service was produced in Italy.

Silver, partly gilded, niello. Found 1868 CE in Hildesheim, Germany. 1st century BCE to 1st century CE. It is on display at the Altes Museum in Berlin, Germany.
