A photorealistic reconstruction of what the Roman emperor Macrinus (r. 217-218 CE) may have looked like. Based on contemporary and near contemporary descriptions, as well as archaeological evidence.

Pictured alongside the reconstruction are the busts and statuary used as references. These include busts from the Capitoline Museum (top left) and Belgrade City Museum (top right), and coin portraits from his reign. Made using Photoshop and Artbreeder, a neural net tool.
