Ottoman sword of the Yatagan type used by Janissaries. Made in Anatolia or the Balkans. 1822 CE. Steel blade. Hilt and balde decorated with silver, gold, coral. 73.7 cm (29 in) x 5.7 cm (2 1/4 in). Weight: 850 g (1 lb. 14 oz). Collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
