An 1805 oil-on-canvas painting by the English artist Philip Reinagle (1749-1833) known as Portrait of an Extraordinary Musical Dog. The purpose of the portrait is debated since it could be the artist's sense of humour on show , a mere desire to show a particualrly fine specimen of a spaniel, or there may be a more subtle political message being sent against royalist opponents (the music has been identified by some as 'God Save the King/Queen).
