Replica of an Eleventh Dynasty model of Nubian archers arranged in 10 rows of four. Each archer is holding in one hand a bow and in the other a bunch of arrows. From a tomb in Asyut. Original from c. 2000 BCE. Archers formed the core of Nubian armies that vied with Egypt for control over parts of the Nile valley. Nubian Museum, Aswan, Egypt.
