An 1891 oil on canvas, Haystacks in the Sun, by Claude Monet (1840-1926), the French impressionist painter. Monet painted a whole series of canvases on haystacks in a field near his home in Giverny. The artist was keen to capture the same scene under various light and weather conditions. (Private Collection)
