An 1887 oil on canvas landscape by Camille Pissarro (1830-1903), the Danish-French impressionist painter. Here the artist is using the pointillist method of building up an image using small dots of colour. Unlike others who used dots, Pissarro uses more square-like dabs and leaves gaps of unpainted canvas between them which gives the overall scene even more light.
