An illustration showing the arrest, trial, and execution of Diego de Almagro (c. 1475-1538) the Spanish conquistador who participated in expeditions of conquest to Peru and Chile. Almagro was strangled to death in Cusco by his fellow conquistadors and his corpse was then beheaded.
