Uplistsulis Eklesia (Prince's Church) is a three-nave basilica built in the 10th century CE near the top of the hill of Uplistsikhe Cave Town (Eastern Georgia) over what was probably the city's most important pagan temple.
Uplistsikhe is an ancient rock-hewn town in Georgia, featuring a complex of caves and tunnels carved into the rock. Dating back to the early Iron Age (c. 1000 BCE), it served as a significant political, religious, and cultural centre. The site includes dwellings, a pagan temple, a Christian basilica, and a complex irrigation system, offering a fascinating glimpse into Georgia's rich history.
