Captain William J. Fetterman (l. c. 1833-1866), best known for the Battle of the Hundred-in-the-Hands/The Fetterman Massacre in which he and 80 soldiers under his command were killed by the Sioux-Cheyenne-Arapaho alliance on 21 December 1866 during Red Cloud's War.
