This portrait of Akbar from the Shah Jahan album by Govardhan depicts a lion and a calf living in peace alluding to the Emperor Akbar's great efforts at creating peace and harmony with Hindu feudal rulers. He even married a Hindu Rajput princess who would become his Empress and favourite wife, Mariam-uz-Zamani. (Metropolitan Museum of Art)
