British Major Thomas Evans (in the boat) is prevented from conducting a prisoner exchange with the Americans, who told him they would be unable to conduct such an exchange until the 'day after tomorrow'. This is what tipped Evans off that the Americans were preparing to launch an attack that would become the Battle of Queenston Heights.
