Lieutenant-general Otto Ohlendorf during the Nuremberg trials. Ohlendorf was a German SS commander of Einsatzgruppen D operating on the Eastern Front. He was found guilty of war crimes and hanged in 1951. (United States Holocaust memorial Museum)
