Map detailing the massacre of Oradour-sur-Glane which took place on 10 June 1944, near Limoges in the south-west of France. During the Second World War (1939-45), 643 innocent men, women and children were killed by soldiers of the 2nd SS Panzer Division Das Reich in possible retaliation after the local resistance had captured SS Sturmbannführer Helmut Kämpfe (1909-44) in a nearby town the day before.
