Statue of Harold Godwinson and Edith Swanneck Download Full Size Image

The statue shows Edith Swanneck finding the body of the English king Harold Godwinson (r. Jan-Oct 1066) on the field of the Battle of Hastings in 1066. It was built by Charles Augustus William Wilke, 1875, a few miles from the battlefield of Hasting, in Sussex, southeast England.
