Illustration
The upper scene depicts the god Ptah sitting on a throne before an altar of offerings. Ptah has a green-colored face and hands, while his cap is blue and the the rest of the body is white. He has a black beard. In the lower scene, Penbuy kneels (on the right side) and his arms are raised in an attitude of worship. A large "ka" sign appears. A text, often columns of varying length, contains a prayer to the "ka" of Ptah by Penbuy. This stela is well-preserved apart from some damage to the lower left edge; and most of the color is intact. 19th Dynasty, 1292 to 1187 BCE. From Deir el-Madina, Thebes, Egypt. (The British Museum, London).
