Limestone statue of a Sumerian female in a gesture of prayer. The head is lost. She wears the classical Sumerian flounced garment with a bare right shoulder. The feet stand on a semi-rectangular base with a back-pillar. Side view, right. From the Temple of Sin, Khafajah (also Khafaje; ancient Tutub), Dyala Governorate, Iraq; excavated by the Oriental Institute (Chicago), 4th season, 1933/1934 CE. Early Dynastic II, c. 2600 BCE. (The Sulaymaniyah Museum, Iraqi Kurdistan).
