Ambrussum is a Gallo-Roman archaeological site which has revealed an exceptional collection of buildings from the Gallic and Roman periods. Ambrussum was a relay station on the Via Domitia which ran at the foot of the settlement. The town had all the equipment needed to welcome travelers, including inns, places of worship, thermal baths and a forge specialized in vehicle maintenance. A paved road leading out of the settlement is still visible along with the traces of Roman chariot tracks.
