Female Head from a Sarcophagus Lid, Found at Sidon in Lebanon. c. 450 BCE. Marble from Paros. Nye Carlsberg Glyptotek (Denmark, Copenhagen). Made with Memento Beta (now ReMake) from AutoDesk.
The anthropoid sarcophagus originated in Egypt, but was used in Phoenicia (Lebanon) in the 5th century BCE. This one has the Egyptian false beard, but the snail curls and the thick eye lids are Greek elements.
