The book gives a great introduction to Chinese history and culture at this time. It explains the different roles of Chinese leaders and people and how their lives were lived.

The book has five chapters and they discuss early unified China, the Qin Dynasty, the Han Dynasty, daily life in the dynasties and empire, and their impact and legacy. The book is colorful, brief, and exciting to read and look at! Designed to keep the interest of a young child and teach them interesting facts in a short space, it does well at that. It covers a wide breadth of topics and so appeals to many different interests. The book gives a great introduction to Chinese history and culture at this time. It explains the different roles of Chinese leaders and people and how their lives were lived.

It catches many of the most interesting aspects of the Qin and Han culture and history and provides a great introduction to the peoples. It discusses the main points of what we know about these ancient cultures and portrays it as something that is important and interesting still today. It explains how these dynasties and the way they ruled has influenced modern-day Chinese culture. This book is very well-done and would be a great resource for elementary school-aged children!
