  The Treaty of Paris ends the French and Indian War in North America which included in the terms the surrender of French territorial possessions to the English, thereby making England the dominant power in North America.
• 4 Jul 1911 CE
  The Eastern North America heat wave begins, affecting the regions of lower Canada, down through New England, and into Pennsylvania. Temperatures rose to 100 degrees F (38 C), remained high through 15 July, and only fell after severe thunderstorms. The event claimed between 380-2,000 lives.
