Theseus did many heroic deeds but he also did some bad things, too. He abandoned Ariadne on the island of Naxos, forgot to change his ship's sail to white and alert his father he was still alive (who then jumped to his death in mistaken grief), and he tried to abduct Persephone from Hades in the Underworld, for which he was punished and only later rescued by Hercules.
