Biography
History is my life.
While I did not always want to pursue studies in history, I found the idea of experiencing the past captivating. I have always loved ancient history. This caused me to develop an interest in Greek and Roman history. It amazed me how societies as advanced and complicated as they were, eventually fell because of social, political, financial, and cultural factors. After switching to history from chemistry during my second semester at Radford, I have not looked back. As I continued to study during my undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral studies, I discovered the true complexity of our world.
Currently, I work in my hometown in Wytheville, Virginia at the Edith Bolling Wilson Birthplace Museum. Edith Bolling Wilson was born here in a two-story commercial building in 1872, and she became the second wife of President Woodrow Wilson in 1915. Edith Bolling Wilson served as gatekeeper for the president after his stroke in October 1919. Daily, I give tours and educate individuals in early 20th century history, technology, World War I, women's rights, and much more. I also have experience teaching at all levels.
If you would like to speak with me, you can find me on one of my social media accounts.
