Biography
Matthew Vivonia of Mission Viejo, California, earned his B.A. in History and Single Subject Teaching Credential in Social Science at CSUF. He is a member of the Theta-Pi chapter of Phi Alpha Theta (History Honors Society), where he had the opportunity to publish and present his senior research thesis. In 2022, he participated in the conference Phrygia Between the East and the West held at the University of Pavia as a poster presenter. Currently, Matthew works in SVUSD as a substitute teacher and sells reproductions of Ancient Greek clothing online under the name Pythian Pieces. He performs seasonally at the Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire as a character actor and seller for his business.
Ancient history makes its way into all his hobbies and pursuits, including crafting, performing, teaching, research, and travel. He cannot stop visiting the Mediterranean, and so far has seen Greece, Italy, Turkey, Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. He has traveled to Greece as a part of World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF) and hopes to study ancient history in Europe for graduate school.
