Biography
Nick Miller has had a lifetime interest in historical matters, especially church history (architecture, theology, social and political aspects of church history) and in how the big events and movements in history express themselves at a local and individual level. He has ventured into Irish political history and World War I naval history. Language change across the centuries and the relationships between languages are a further fascination, plus a deep interest in the history of ideas around the origins of language and speech and control of these by the human mind. Within the broader area of language he is also interested in the study of place-names and what they reveal about the past. He is an emeritus professor who worked in the broad area of neuroscience, more specifically in neuropsychology and neurorehabilitation. He is the (co)author of numerous books and more than two hundred articles within these fields.
