Marcy says, "I am a Ph.D. archaeologist concerned with the integration of archaeological findings into solutions for present-day environmental issues such as global warming. My research specialties include colonization and evolutionary theory, Palaeolithic Britain, historical mining rushes in the American West, modern garbage (really!), and archaeological hard rock geology, particularly flint, chert, and gold. I have field experience in the archaeology of the Ice Age Britain, American West frontier, medieval Wales, prehistoric Arizona and southern California, and colonial Virginia, and a wide range of academic and cultural resource management work experience"
